Using a combination of PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), MET (Muscle Energy Technique), and STR (Soft Tissue Release), we’ll work with your body — not against it — to:
✔️ Improve flexibility and range of motion
✔️ Reset overactive or underperforming muscles
✔️ Release deep muscular tension
✔️ Support better posture, balance, and coordination
✔️ Enhance recovery and performance
Unlike passive stretching, you’ll be actively involved. I’ll guide you through contract-relax techniques that create longer-lasting changes than stretching alone.
Whether you’re a runner, lifter, cyclist, or just fed up with feeling tight all the time — this session gives your body the attention it deserves.

When every step feels like you’re treading on drawing‑pins, you need more than a generic foot massage. Our 45‑minute Plantar Fasciitis Session blends the gold‑standard methods top sports‑therapy clinics advertise—but delivered with the clinical depth that Maintain Independence is known for.
What happens in your session
• Deep sports‑massage & instrument‑assisted soft‑tissue release – melts trigger points in the calf and intrinsic foot muscles, boosts circulation and kick‑starts tissue repair, so you feel the sting fade fast.
• Targeted joint mobilisation (ankle, subtalar and mid‑foot) – restores the tiny glides your foot needs for shock absorption; less strain on the plantar fascia means longer‑lasting relief.
• Precision myofascial release – frees the fascial ‘tether’ that runs from your toes to your calf, instantly improving range of motion and easing that first‑step pain.
• Post‑treatment gait & footwear check‑up – we pinpoint biomechanical culprits such as over‑pronation, stiff big toe or worn trainers and give you clear, no‑jargon fixes.
• Take‑home reload plan – bite‑sized mobility drills, activation‑band work and pain‑science tips emailed straight after your visit, so your progress sticks.
Ideal for
• Runners, hikers and gym‑goers stuck in the “rest‑reinjure” loop.
• Nurses, teachers and retail staff on their feet all shift.
• New mums with post‑pregnancy arch collapse.
• Anyone who dreads that first step out of bed.

Melt Stress • Unlock Deep Ease
Short on time but need to unwind fast? Our 40-minute Hot Stone Focus Session delivers penetrating heat and expert massage to soothe deep tension, ease tight muscles, and restore calm—quickly.
Why It Works
Deep Heat Release – Smooth basalt stones are heated and applied to key tension zones, sinking warmth deep into muscles where hands alone can’t reach.
Enhanced Muscle Softening – Heat helps muscles relax faster, making massage strokes more effective with less intensity.
Nervous System Reset – The warmth naturally calms the body, quiets the mind, and supports overall wellbeing in minutes.
What to Expect
Quick Check‑In – Choose one or two priority areas (e.g. shoulders & neck, lower back, hips, or legs).
Targeted Stone Work – Heated stones are gently glided and held on tight spots, combined with slow, focused massage.
After‑Care Tips – Stay hydrated and allow time to rest or stretch to keep the calm going.
Session length: 40 minutes
Ideal for: Lunchtime escapes • Stubborn tension spots • Pre-event calm
Note: Stones are thoroughly cleaned and perfectly heated to ensure comfort and safety.
Fast, warm, and deeply restoring.
Book your 40‑minute Hot Stone Focus Session today—and let the heat do the heavy lifting.

We don’t just treat the soles — we work through the full structure of the foot, including the toes, arches, heels, and surrounding muscles, recognising that everything in the foot is connected. Each movement is intentional, blending expert techniques that soothe, realign, and reawaken.
This is more than a massage — it’s a complete reset for your foundation. Whether you're on your feet all day or simply in need of deep, therapeutic care, this treatment leaves you grounded, refreshed, and ready to move forward in total comfort.

Relieve tension. Ease pain. Move freely.
Deep tissue massage is a powerful, targeted therapy designed to treat musculoskeletal issues such as:
✔ Strains & sprains
✔ Sports injuries
✔ Muscle tightness & postural imbalances
✔ Chronic pain
✔ Recovery after surgery or injury
This treatment involves slow, sustained pressure and deep strokes that reach the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue (fascia). Unlike a relaxing spa massage, deep tissue work focuses on realigning muscle fibres, breaking down adhesions, and improving circulation to the affected areas.
✅ What You Can Expect:
A 45-minute focused treatment tailored to your needs and pain points
Professional assessment of tension, restriction, and muscular imbalance
Expert application of deep, controlled pressure to release knots and improve flexibility
Reduced inflammation and relief from chronic muscular tension
Support with injury rehabilitation or postural correction
Time for discussion and advice on follow-up care or complementary exercises
Whether you're recovering from an injury, dealing with daily aches, or simply want to move more comfortably, deep tissue massage is a great addition to your self-care and recovery routine.

Arthritis and joint pain are often associated with inflammation, swelling, and the build-up of waste products such as uric acid and inflammatory cytokines. Cupping therapy helps to reduce these symptoms by promoting circulation, easing muscular tension, and encouraging the removal of excess fluids and metabolic waste from affected areas.
For more effective detoxification, wet cupping is often recommended, as it may aid in drawing out deeper toxins through the skin. Cupping can be applied directly over painful joints, or to specific meridian points that are believed to energetically support the joints, based on traditional therapy systems.
In addition to reducing inflammation, cupping is known to relax tight muscles, improve mobility, and ease stiffness—making it a beneficial treatment option for those managing chronic joint conditions.

Stimulate Metabolism • Smooth Contours • Support Slimming Goals
Our 45‑minute Weight‑Loss Cupping Session harnesses the power of negative‑pressure therapy to invigorate circulation, help mobilise stagnant lymph and support healthy fat metabolism—all while leaving you relaxed and refreshed.
How Weight‑Loss Cupping Helps
Lymphatic Activation – Gentle, rhythmic cupping encourages lymph flow, aiding natural detoxification and reducing fluid retention.
Micro‑Circulation Boost – Increased blood supply delivers nutrients to sluggish tissues, supporting a more efficient metabolic response.
Fascial Release & Skin Smoothing – Gliding silicone cups help break up fascial adhesions and the appearance of cellulite, promoting firmer contours.
Complement to Diet & Exercise – Works best alongside a balanced eating plan and regular activity, giving your body an extra push toward its goals.
What to Expect in 45 Minutes
Goal & Lifestyle Check‑In – brief discussion of your weight‑management targets, activity level and nutrition habits.
Targeted Cupping Sequence
Light oil application on key areas (abdomen, hips, thighs, upper arms).
Dynamic “glide‑and‑lift” cupping patterns to stimulate circulation and lymphatic drainage.
Abdominal Massage & Breath Work – gentle techniques to relax the diaphragm, support digestion and enhance core engagement.
Post‑Session Guidance – hydration, anti‑inflammatory food tips and movement suggestions to maximise results.
Session length: 45 minutes
Best for: Early‑stage weight programmes • Stubborn fluid retention • Cellulite smoothing
Frequency: Weekly or bi‑weekly sessions often yield the best cumulative effect.
Note: Cupping can leave temporary pink or purple marks that fade within a few days.

I been suffering with my shoulder for years now, I keep going back and forth to the doctors and they just keep giving me exercises off physio and I had scans and been on pain relief and even had time off sick with it but it never really got better.
Then I seen an advert for Maintain Independence and I went and read the reviews and I thought it sounded good so I rung up and I spoke to a really nice man on the phone who give me loads of information and he was dead reassuring and that made me book cos you can’t never be too careful with new places can you.
So I got booked in with a lovely woman called Zoë and after the first appointment my pain went down loads and then after the second appointment I could move my shoulder proper and I can’t even remember the last time I didn’t wake up with pain in it but after that second one I actually slept all the way through the night without waking up hurting.
I just had my third appointment now and I feel like a brand new man it’s absolutely amazing and I can’t thank Zoë enough I’ll be booking back in again for maintenance so it don’t come back. - Catherine·
We contacted Maintain Independence after waiting far too long for the NHS to see my mum, and during that time she was having falls and eventually went completely off her feet. She was deteriorating fast.
Zoe came to assess her and had a plan in place straight away. Over the next 8 months, Zoe worked closely with my mum and the transformation has been incredible. She went from not walking at all to walking again, and now she’s living her life — making her own tea, confident enough to leave the house, and most importantly, she has hope for the future.
At 83 years old, my mum has regained her independence, and we honestly can’t thank Zoe and the team enough for giving her quality of life back. - Maddie·
I had a sports massage and cupping yesterday with Zoe and wow, it was great. I've had lots of massages before, including cupping, but nobody has ever done such a thorough assessment and pinpointed my muscular issues so well. Zoe was really attentive and although the massage was painful - my muscles were extremely tight - she looked after me so well. We had a really interesting chat, too.
I feel miles better the next day and will certainly be booking in again. - E L··from Google
I had a sports back massage with Zoe and recommend this service. As I have a few health issues she was especially careful not to irritate those. I definitely felt better afterwards!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Zoe is absolutely fantastic, my 6 year old son had some time with Zoe today, to try get him walking again after having a few surgeries on his foot, after being in a cast for 6 weeks none weight baring and using his wheelchair and frame since, he has left the session WALKING!!!! Zoe has so much patience and truly is magical, Ollie loves coming to see Zoe and her distraction tactics are brilliant, thank you so much, you’re the best. XX - Vicky Holland··from Google
Maintain Independence has been absolutely wonderful in helping my mum after her fall. She lost a lot of confidence and was very unsteady on her feet, but the home visits have made such a difference. Zoë has been so kind and patient, and she really took the time to get to know Mum and understand her needs. The exercises have helped to build Mum’s strength and balance, and we’ve noticed she’s moving around the house much more safely now. It’s given her back some of her confidence — and given us peace of mind as a family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this service to anyone supporting a loved one with mobility issues.
